Our school motto: "Ashford - Play the Game" has been combined with our core values STAR - "Play the Game be a STAR".
Positive Behaviour for Learning aims to build a safe, positive, productive and harmonious environment.
Positive Behaviour for Learning is an evidence-based whole school process which aims to improve learning outcomes for all students and promotes positive behaviour. The process focuses on explicit teaching and support of positive behaviours for all students. It enables students to develop a clear understanding of required expectations, become responsible for their own behaviour and work together to create a positive, productive and harmonious learning community. This approach has a strong emphasis on teaching appropriate behaviours and providing systems of support to bring about these positive behaviours.
Our PBL program is based on a school wide set of expectations which apply in every circumstance and setting in which students' are learning.
Our core values are:
From these core values, a set of rules have been developed for each school setting, for example in the classroom, playground, toilet areas, canteen, bus lines and moving in between classes.
Positive Behaviour for Learning assists in an integrated delivery of the curriculum and pastoral care programs. Classroom strategies are reflected in a proactive whole-school learning and teaching for all students, which develops effective student safety and wellbeing policies and practices.

I would like to acknowledge that we meet on the homelands of the Kwiambal people who are the traditional custodians of this land. I pay respect to elders past, present and emerging of the Kamilaroi nation and extend that respect to other Aboriginal people here today.
